An intensive study of women’s self defense, rape prevention, and street survival
Achieve a new level of awareness and self-confidence by learning these simple but effective combat techniques as taught to law enforcement and military personnel. The Hollis Park District and the Central Illinois Shotokan Karate Association will be offering three (3) classes. We will cover topics as it relates to your personal safety. Each session will focus on self-awareness, effective combat techniques and topics for your personal safety. Each session will be geared toward each group attending.
The instructor, Jim Hartman, is a 28 year veteran of the Peoria Police Department where he is a Master Defensive Tactics Instructor and Master Firearms Instructor. Mr. Hartman is also a 6th Degree black belt in traditional Japanese Karate (Shotokan) and has been training for over 35 years.
Attendees should wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes and gym shoes. The only other equipment needed is an open mind and a willing body.
Register at the Hollis Recreation Center. You may register for 1 class or more. Receive a $5.00 discount if you register for 2 or more classes and family discounts available. Please ask for more information.
