2024 Fishing Permit Rules and Guidelines

Permits for the 2024 Season will be available either online or at Rec Center

beginning March 1st, 2024 at the Rec Center.  First day of fishing will be

Monday, April 1, 2024.

Fishing Permits & Parking passes can be picked up or purchased at the Rec Center.   

Due to COVID-19, we are adhering to the CDC Social & Physical Distancing Guidelines.  

Please hang your Parking Pass from the rearview mirror.   

 

Residents of Hollis Park District receive fishing permits free of charge 

Non-Residents Fishing Permit Fees:

  • Adult                                             $   85.00

  • Non-Resident Adult Couples*           $145.00  for two permits. 

  • Non-Resident Senior/Veteran (55+)     $  60.00 (or a Veteran or have an IL Class 2 Disability)

  • Non-Resident Senior Couples*          $  95.00  for two permits   (one person must be 55 yr or older)

  • Junior Pass (16-18 yrs)                      $  25.00  (if still living at home with a current HPD fishing permit holder)

  • Senior/Veteran Daily Pass                 $  5.00 per Wednesday (must be 55 yrs+ or fishing with a HPD Sr. Permit holder.)

  • Adult Daily Passes                            $ 10.00 for either Friday, Saturday or Sunday

  • Weekend Guest Pass                        $  25.00 for Friday, Saturday and Sunday (for Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day included)

 

  1. A Photo ID and a utility or tax bill with correct address are required to receive a Fishing Permit. To receive a veterans permit please present your military id or dd214.  

  2. * Couples must reside at the same address and present identification, which bears a photograph of the applicant and provides      proof of address.

  3. #Junior Pass for ages 16-18 years

    • young adults between the ages of 16 and 18 are required to have a fishing permit, which may be purchased for a fee of $25.

    • To be eligible for the reduced fee of $25.00, a parent or legal guardian of the dependent MUST be in possession of a valid   Hollis Park District Fishing Permit.

    •  Where the parent or legal guardian of the dependent is not in possession of a valid Hollis Park Fishing Permit the dependent shall pay the full fee of $75.00 for a fishing permit.

  4. Children under the age of 16, whether resident or non-resident, may fish without a permit.​

    • Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian 

    • A parent or legal guardian accompanying youth fishermen are required to hold a valid fishing permit in order to fish. If the parent or guardian does not fish then no permit is required. 

  5. All Reed City Lake Permit holders receive five (5) guest passes a year (passes are available at the Hollis Recreation Center), which allows your guests to fish on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, though you are not required to be with them. They must have the guest pass on their person while fishing at all times.  

  6. Hours of fishing on permit days is from 7:00am - Dusk.  

  7. All HPD Adult Fishing Permit Holders can fish on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 am - Dusk. 

  8. All HPD Senior Fishing Permit Holders (55 & older) can fish on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 am - Dusk. 

  9. Holidays included are Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. Permit holders may fish from 7:00 am - Dusk.    

Reed City Lake Rules

  1. No minnows shall be used as bait.

  2. Pole fishing only, 2 pole limit.

  3. Trolling motors only. Outboard motors allowed for loading and unloading at the dock ONLY

  4. Limits of fish taken in a 24 hour period by one person.




     

  5. No grass carp or frogs shall be taken at any time.

  6. No alcoholic beverages allowed.

  7. No Swimming or Wading.  

  8. Minimum fine of $100 for each violation of Hollis Park rules.
